FREEDMAN SEATING HOSTS MFG DAY EVENTS IN CHICAGO
MFG Month Shines Spotlight on Local Manufacturers, Highlights Career Opportunities
(Chicago, IL) October 4, 2019 – In celebration of the launch of MFG Day 2019, Freedman Seating Company will host dozens of Chicago Public School students throughout the month of October as part of an effort to highlight modern manufacturing—a vibrant and growing industry that offers diverse, high-paying career opportunities. The events will feature factory tours, advanced manufacturing demonstrations, panel discussions and candid conversations about manufacturing careers.
Freedman Seating is proud to partner with local and national groups all year in coordinated efforts to promote manufacturing and workforce development, including City Colleges of Chicago, Austin College and Career Academy, Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, Heartland Alliance, Safer Foundation, Skills for Chicagoland’s Future, mHUB, Chicago Women in Trades, Jane Addams Resource Corporation, Manufacturing Renaissance, Manufacturing Connect, IMEC — Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center), NAM — National Association of Manufacturers, and more.

MFG Day, an annual national event held in communities across the country, is supported by thousands of manufacturers as they host students, teachers, parents and community members at open houses, plant tours and more to change perceptions of manufacturing and highlight the high-tech and innovative companies that are solving tomorrow’s challenges today.

First held in 2012 by its founder, the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International, MFG Day is now organized by The Manufacturing Institute—the education and workforce partner of the National Association of Manufacturers.
